I always use this when I'm teaching a song for the first time. I sing the song on my own once. Then I go line by line and get them to repeat what I sing. For example, I'll sing "How firm, a foundation..." with the arrow pointing toward me. Then I'll flip the sign so that the parrot shows, and they'll repeat back to me "How firm, a foundation...". The little kids especially like it, but the big kids don't actually mind me using it with them every now and then. I don't use it with them all the time of course, I am very conscious of their mature dignity. :)
Welcome!
I've always thought Singing Time was a magical time. The best part of Primary. Since being called as Primary Chorister, I've tried to make Singing Time a way to make church and learning a joyful, fun time for children. These are my adventures as Primary Chorister.
